Production Details Page Synopsis
Thank you for your interest in our micro-budget film, unfortunately the production of Paint is on hold until 2027.
Production costs in California have risen
our budget needs increased since February 2026, when we first built the plan and another factor was our decision to increase the daily pay for our actors and crew.
We were hopeful we could keep moving while we secured additional financing, but we reached a point where we cannot responsibly move forward right now without adding undue worry, stress, and anxiety.
With sadness and hopefulness, we are exploring the possibility to produce Paint in 2027 — potentially outside California.
Visit us as often as you can to learn when production has resumed.
Original Production Details
- Production Minimum Budget: $60,000
- All Actors get $150 a day.
- Crew members pay varies by position - $200 a day for Cinematographer down to $100 a day for craft.
- Gerald gets paid when the movie gets distribution
- THERE IS PAINTBALL ACTION! Characters get tagged with paint
- Aria, Trevor, Roscoe, Garret, Shane, Sterling, Rick, Brett, Weston, Nick, Carlos, Tara, and Cooper.
- A MEDIC IS ON SET DURING PAINTBALL ACTION SCENES!
- A PAINTBALL SAFETY ADVISOR IS ON SET DURING PAINTBALL ACTION SCENES!
- Paintball equipment, gear, and clothing are provided
- Everyone on set during Paintball actions scenes wears a mask — this is is not negotiable — no mask, no on-set privileges.
- Two cameras — most of the time

Location Changes
It was planned to use a camp above Nevada City, California after their season is over in September for the paintball action — the location where the original production was captured; however, due to rising costs in California, we are exploring locations outside California. The exteriors and interiors of a home with acreage might still be done the Grass Valley and Nevada City area. It was planned to use a walking path near a local lake or Folsom for a jogging scene but that may also be a location outside of California. Plans to use the local Paintball store or one close might change to a store outside California.
