Executive Producer Opportunities
If you are reading this, I hope you are looking for more than just cool or unique trinkets, novelties, or swag in return for your support. You are choosing to invest in a growing business, to diversify into the arts, and to take part in the intriguing process of producing a film. While filmmaking is not all lights, camera, and action, it certainly has enough of that excitement to ignite the senses. Supporting a professional creative team and then watching an audience immerse themselves in the story and characters creates a kind of euphoria that few other industries can offer.
I am seeking four Executive Producers to support the film at a higher level, with the opportunity to receive a return on their investment. For an investment of $15,000, Executive Producers receive exclusive trinkets, novelties, and swag — many of which are not available to other supporters — as well as a 5% share of the film’s net distribution income.
For example, if the film generates $1 million in distribution revenue, the Executive Producers would receive $50,000 each. If the film generates $5 million, they would receive $250,000, and the return increases proportionally beyond that. I believe strongly in my talent, skills, and ability to deliver an entertaining, educational, and profitable film to audiences worldwide. I have proven this on a smaller scale, and I am confident I can achieve it on a larger one when given the opportunity.
What is A Producer?
Ever wondered why there are so many producers listed on a film or TV show, and what each of them actually does? Many producer titles serve a real purpose and come with specific responsibilities. Others, however, exist largely for name recognition.
There are documented cases of very well-known individuals being paid simply to lend their name to a project — despite having no real involvement — so the film can secure additional funding or attract recognizable actors. Personally, if I had $1.5 million, I would not spend it on name-dropping; I could just make the movie.
Producer duties can range from securing financing to various on-set support roles, and everything in between. Sometimes, a studio executive’s relative — perhaps a production assistant whose job is essentially running errands — ends up with a co-producer credit. While I have only awarded producer credits to those who genuinely went above and beyond on my films, I admit that some of those titles are still, ultimately, fluff.
Executive Producer Role
The executive producer is the highest-ranking producer on a project. They are responsible for securing funding, making major creative and business decisions, and overseeing the entire production. Most executive producers do not get involved in the day-to-day running of the set and may visit the set occasionally; however some, more invested, have final say on casting, script approval, and distribution, but their main focus is ensuring the film gets made and distributed.
